Glass recycling

Glass can be incorporated into a current scheme without the need for separation.

The System

  • Simply place all glass into the bins and we will collect them on a fixed schedule or ad-hoc basis
  • The bins are exchanged rather than emptied for the safety of you and our staff

What happens next?

Clear, brown, green and other coloured glass is taken away for reprocessing:
  • The ’cullet’ is crushed and goes through contaminant removal processes
  • It is then mixed with raw materials and melted in a furnace
  • It may end up as sand for golf bunkers, glasphalt for road surfacing or made into a glass container once again.

Recycling fact - After accounting for the transport and processing needed, 315kg of C02 is saved per tonne of glass melted.

Ink cartridges and toners collection services

We can provide you with specialist containers for your cartridges and toners and then collect them for recycling... More

Recycling empty laser toner and inkjet cartridges helps reduce waste and prevents potentially harmful toner ink leaching into the soil. Toner cartridges cannot be refilled, but most types can be remanufactured. One in four cartridges sold in the UK are remanufactured.

The System

  • Empty cartridges should be put in their original boxes. Alternatively, we have a selection of containers which are suitable for storing cartridges
  • If you are a Multi-Cycler customer you can have a small amount of toner cartridges collected at no extra cost. Leave the individual toner cartridges in its original wrapping (if possible) then place in a clear bag next to your Multi-Cycler collection
  • Cartridges are sent to a factory, dismantled and cleaned, worn parts replaced and the drum either re-coated or replaced
  • They are then refilled with fresh toner, tested and sold with a guarantee.

Recycling fact - Each laser cartridge that is recycled conserves the equivalent of approximately one litre of oil.
